India CCM Elections, 2012

India Country Coordinating Mechanism Civil Society Organisations Elections 2012

The designated term (3 years) of the current voting members on the India CCM is stipulated to end in June 2012. It is envisaged that the members be selected by the constituencies themselves, through an  electronic voting process. Hence it was decided at the 48th CCM meeting, held on 29th Dec. 2011 to form an election subcommittee comprising of USAID, UNAIDS, the Embassy of France and Sangama for the elections  of the Civil Society Constituency.

Civil Society CCM members are expected to participate in the CCM functioning- bringing in the civil society perspective and interests. CCM membership requires active participation, involvement and commitment. The allotted Civil Society seats are for the following Sub-Sectors:

It is CCM’s  endeavor to encourage the broadest possible participation in this election process to ensure that Civil Society membership to the CCM is truly representative and is inclusive of all civil society groups who are working to impact the course of the three diseases HIV, Tuberculosis, Malaria, alongwith Child Development and Rights, Gender and Sexual Minorities subsectors in the country.


An independent election management agency will be contracted by CCM to manage the CSO election process.  CCM election committee will be monitoring the  election  process to  ensure transparency.  On line registration for civil society organizations    interested to join in the polling process   has started  on the India CCM website (www.india-ccm.org).  In case of any comments and queries, please email at query@india-ccm.org
